Grandchild:

A  picture of my son, Ted, and his daughter, Hazel (17 months old).  They live in Seattle, WA, USA, which is "geek heaven".

Cats:

After I got home from the CVA meeting in late October, I decided to get some cats.  My two elderly cats died during the summer.  I decided to adopt some younger cats, because the loss of six cats in six years was just too hard.  So I got three cats from Caring for Creatures, a local no-kill animal shelter.  I will add pictures to this page soon, but they are still adjusting to their new home.

Apollo:  He is an altered male about 5 years old.  A large (20 lbs or 9 kg), grey tabby -- no orange in his coloring.  As a boss-cat, he had not been easy to place in a new home.  Since my home was "cat free", I had no problem.  With Apollo I got two other cats from the same shelter room -- cats that had a "working relationship" with Apollo.

Troy:  She is a neutered female about 2½ years old.  She is a typical (about 10 lbs or 4.5 kg); she is smoke grey, with very faint, residual markings.  Clearly she in not intimidated by Apollo in that she is the designated first eater.  I did not set the eating order -- the cats work that out themselves.

Danson:  He was born at Caring for Creatures 1½ years ago.  He is an altered male, black and white coloring -- sort of like a panda.  About 12 lbs or 5.5 kg.  He still has a lot of kitten in his personality -- always eager for a game of chase, which is not a lot of fun for me at 5:00 AM.
