The Richter Factory in Rudolstadt

The Richter factory is in the foreground, with Rudolsbad in the center of the picture.  The Richter Villa is found in the upper-center-right (note the gold colored roof).  The railroad along the river bank can also be seen.  Rudolstadt (English or Deutsch), a very nice link -- check it out) looks much the same today, with all of the buildings clearly identifiable.

AV Burkhard Schulz, Ellerau bei Hamburg, has produced a wonderful video entitled Ankerstadt Rudolstadt.  He  has given a copy to the CVA Archive, and it is possible he might let you have a copy if you want one.

Thanks to LP gas, the brown smoke haze is gone and Rudolstadt is today just as bright and clean as it looks in this picture.  This area of Germany suffered almost no war damage, so all of the buildings (and the murals in Heidecksburg and the inlay work in the Richter Villa), are original.

A recent aerial photograph of the Anchor factory (not the new block factory) and the Richter Villa.
