St. Martin-in-the-Fields

by J.H.S. Jones
Troutbeck, Windermere

St. Martin-in-the-Fields, London, was built in Anchor stones by J.H.S. Jones of Troutbeck, Windermere, UK, in January 1945.  St. Martin-in-the-Fields is an Elizabethan church, thus build originally as a Protestant church.  Mr. Jones built a number of Protestant Anchor churches, while almost all others are (or were, when built) Catholic churches.  Mr. Jones drew up building plans, and left with his collection a total of 70 detailed building plans.  A number of these plans are integrated Anchor / Meccano bridges.  But others are very fine Anchor buildings.  I will present the Jones buildings from time to time.  The pictures are of my reconstruction, which followed the original plans as closely as possible.
