Schloß Pillnitz, Dresden

Just east of Dresden center, and on the other side of the Elbe, is Schloß Pillnitz.  Leo and I visited it on our second day in Dresden.  One must plan the river crossing, as there are not a lot of bridges outside of the city center.  We also visited the Schlösser on the north bank, but they can wait until next month..

The approach shows a large building but gives little idea of the beautiful interior court yard.

Above and below are pictures of the beautifully repainted and restored side buildings.

A close up view.

The columns are very beautiful, but no Richter stones exist.  OK, in the Adler series, perhaps.

Even the outer buildings are well done..

Leo took many pictures, which I will continue to post over the next few months.  I will save the one of the Fichtner family until he is the featured builder here.  (Wolfgang, that means I am expecting an e-mail with a few photographs.)
