French Empire Château
by Julius Lauth
Built by George Hardy

It is hard to say whether this is the front or the rear.  As with many châteaux an Schlösser arrival was at the "rear" door, and the visitors went through to the "front", which overlooked the formal gardens.  You can see this concept in Hummelshain as well as this chateau.  This view is of the "front", with steps which lead to the gardens.

The front porch and steps to the garden.  Examine the fine teardrop windows.  They are easy to make and very nice looking.  The lintel over the door is one of the special Lauth stones.

The rear, showing many of the special stones, including the roof stones.

Note the stones over the windows.

The upper window has a special roof, again with Lauth designed stones.
