The church Maria vom Siege, known to Anchor friends as the Fünfhauser Kirche (or [incorrectly] Fünfhäuser Kirche) is a very interesting structure. This picture was taken from its web site. Today it is not possible to get such a clear view of the church.
Compare this complex structure with the Richter version. One has to
use a lot of imagination to find more than a slight resemblance.

The limitations of the set # 34 forced the Richter Art Department to alter
the church into a rectangular structure, which is not to say that it is
impossible to build a very fine model using Anchor stones. Just look
at the next pictures!

AV Hugo Trnkóczy, of Vienna, built this version of Maria vom Siege.
The picture was published in the Anker Zeitung (Anchor newspaper) #
13, Christmas 1926. Note how large the structure is. Quite amazing!
The roof is octagonal and there are many non-Anchor embellishments.
Clearly Hugo benefited from his ability to visit the church.

A comparison with the picture of the rear of this church (see the next picture)
will show that AV Hugo Trnkóczy did as well in the rear as he did
in the front. His reproduction of the many octagonal roofs is most
impressive. Again, he definitely benefited from living in Vienna. He
could visit the stone factory there to add stones as needed, and he could
visit the church to compare his versions with the original Maria vom Siege.
AFAIK, this picture of the rear has never been published
before.

The numerous octagonal roofs would put pressure on even Peter Hartel's
collection. This picture was also taken from the church's web site.

AV Ernst Meyer-Margreth's version is not as close to the original as is the
one above, but it is a wonderful effort. Again many non-Anchor
embellishments were included.

The rear is also somewhat simplified. Compare the model with the photograph
above.
